Sumner Radiology was founded in 1986 when a group of independent radiologists from the Middle Tennessee area came together to establish a service that would provide high-quality care to local and rural hospitals.

The group currently consists of seven radiologists, certified by the American Board of Radiology, providing services in Gallatin and Carthage, Tennessee as well as Russellville, Kentucky. Its members are among the best in the field with advanced training in various subspecialties, including musculoskeletal imaging, body imaging, neuroradiology, and interventional radiology, from prestigious institutions including Stanford, Northwestern, the Mayo Clinic, the University of Tennessee, the University of Alabama-Birmingham, and the University of South Florida.
